For many years, OLP hosted the PA State Senior Idol competition. It was very exciting and we saw many, many wonderful displays of talent, including singing, instrumentals, reciting of ballads, and more.

Description of Talent: Marie Spinelli impersonates a now elderly ill "Edith Ann" (Edith Ann was the 5 year old 'girl' in the big rocker on Saturday Nite Live that Lily Tomlin played). In Marie's skit, Edith Ann will be sharing her suggestions with the interviewer Harold Rovins on how to stay safe from COVID.
Personal Biography: Marie Spinelli is a retired Lebanon PA psychotherapist. She starred as Doris in the short Lebanon Community Theatre play " Breakfast Manners" in 2005. In 2017 she portrayed Fannie Hershey in the local musical " Here Comes Mr. Hershey." Also in 2017 she played 1 of 2 women on the Square in Hershey recreating town gossip of days gone by (Sponsored by the Hershey Derry Township Historical Society). Harold Rovins, interviewer of COVID 81 Edith Ann is renowned for his Little Billy jokes. If you laughed today, laugh tomorrow...it is so underrated !
Description of Talent: Premier Guitarist and Percussionist, Maria Performs an acoustic rock show throughout central Pennsylvania
Personal Biography: A premier solo guitarist with five albums of her own: Images of the Past, Mary Artuso's Dream, Generations, Live From the Wire, and Gifts From My Guitar, Maria has performed her unique instrumental contemporary guitar sound throughout Pennsylvania and the Northeast and the Southeast. Festivals, colleges, fairs, coffee houses, country clubs, Maria has played them all. Mary Artuso's Dream has aired on several radio stations throughout Pennsylvania. Maria continues to astonish audiences with her intensified and complex instrumental guitar show. She has been performing professionally for over 20 years and has performed at venues throughout the east coast, including the Bellmont Stakes, Columbia Folk Festival, Mid-Atlanic Borders Tour, NACA College Touring, American Musicfest, Musik Fest, Atlantic City Beach Festival, and many other numerous outdoor concerts and events. Maria is a composer for RDSD Publishing Company, Middletown, PA. Music from her CD Generations is being promoted in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Sweden for TV and film.

Personal Biography: I am a Private Detective specializing in finding Kidnapped Children, Missing Persons & Biological Families with a 98% success rate. I am President of CIA Detective Agency, the first female President of the PA Association of Licensed Investigators as well as their first recipient of the "Professional Investigator of the Year" award, Licensed Captain with the US Coast Guard, Police Chaplain, & Author of 3 books published in 2020: Somewhere Out There; From A Different Chair and Officer Glee. I became a Covid-19 Contact Trace Investigator by the Johns Hopkins University Hospital a few months ago. I attended the Philadelphia Police Academy, the Supreme Court of PA's Minor Judiciary, Penn State University & was formerly a Lieutenant with the Chester County Sheriff's Department. I live in Kennett Square with the love of my life, husband, Stephen Stewart, & our 3 rescues: Seven, August & Holly. I love to sing & perform. Music is what makes me tick. Personal Biography: Peggy Kurtz Keller and Barry Surran have been performing together for over a decade. They met through Pennsylvania State Senior Idol where Barry was crowned winner 2008 and Peggy in 2011. Their renditions of popular duets and solos from the Big Band Era through the 70's have entertained seniors in 55 and over communities, senior expos, nursing homes and senior living homes. They are always well received and are invited back often. Their repertoire includes songs like: "Unforgettable", "Sentimental Journey" "I Wish You Love", "Mack The Knife", "How About You", "Cabaret", Innamorata, and many, many more. In addition, they usually end each performance with several Mitch Miller sing-a-longs and the audience participation is heart warming. The seniors (many in their 80's and 90's still know all the words to "Five Foot Two", Shine On Harvest Moon" and other favorites. Peggy has been involved in music since her high school days and has performed in many local theatre productions. You will also find Peggy singing the National Anthem at many local sporting events. In 2017 she was crowned the winner of the coveted MS Pennsylvania Senior America Contest and went to the National finals in Atlantic City where she was the second runner-up. In the 60's Barry sang with the renowned Lehigh University Glee Club and has performed with the Reading Pops Orchestra.

Description of Talent: Cliff and Wendy met while singing with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians in 1981. They’ve used their musical skills and repertoire over the years in community theatre, ministry and social events. The song they share for this event, “Oh By The Way” was written by children’s song writer, Joe Scruggs, from Central Texas. Cliff and Wendy had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Scruggs perform it when he came to a local church in San Marcos, TX, while their children were still young.
Personal Biography: Rev. Cliff and Wendy Flick married in Aug 1983. Cliff is a retired U.S.A.F. Reserve Logistical Readiness Officer. Ordained in the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, 1992, Cliff pastored churches in Central Texas and the Eastern PA UMC Conferences. He served as Chaplain at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, Pa, before entering into retirement with the UMC in 2016. Cliff and Wendy work full-time at the Defense Logistics Agency, New Cumberland, Pa. They have two children: Jennifer, married to Jordan Wenger, lives in Centennial, CO, with two children (Jazlyn and Jetson); and Jeremy and wife Katrina live in Lititz, PA. Cliff and Wendy are residents of Middletown, Pa, and enjoy being part of the Evangelical UMC choir and handbell ensembles.
